CURRENT RELEASE of the 3600D AMPS / TDMA & FEX (TDMA) SOFTWARE !!! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Versions: SCP 7.6, AMPS 5.1, DCMMIC 10.3 and DSP 1.3 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ****** Software Upgrade Notes ****** Thank you for taking this opportunity to upgrade your 3600D to the latest version of AMPS and TDMA software. The TDMA version of software will include any changes and updates that will effect the IS-136 software option, or the Frequency Extension (1.9 GHz) operation if your 3600D is equipped with these options. You should upgrade your AMPS / TDMA unit to the current versions regardless of whether you are experiencing any problems or not. You will find a copy of the installation instructions (the file labeled 3600upgr.txt) in the Disk 1 folder that will be downloaded to your hard drive. Please read the installation instructions closely as revisions to the procedure may have been made since the instructions were last published. *********************************************************************** ** NOTE: Downloading the executable file 36tdma76.exe will extract ** ** all software upgrade files to the C:\Temp folder on your PC.** *********************************************************************** After extraction perform the following: 1) Access the C:\Temp folder on your PC, and copy the files in the "DISK 1" folder to a floppy disk. Label this disk "SCP/AMPS". 2) Next, copy the files in the "DISK 2" folder to another floppy disk. Label this disk "DCMMIC". 3) Next, copy the files in the "Autoruns" folder to your Calibration Disk These new program sequences will replace the old sequences. The old sequences may or may not function properly with the new software. 5) Now access the "DISK 1" folder on your PC, and open the file "3600upgr.txt". Follow the installation instructions. *********************************************************************** ADDITIONAL NOTE: You can verify which options are installed in your 3600D by performing the following: Note: Soft keys are the buttons labeled S1 through S8 just to the right of the display. a. The 3600D must be in the "Manual Mode". Press the MANUAL button on the keypad. The title bar at the top of the display should now read "Manual Mode". b. If you have difficulty setting the 3600D to the "Manual Mode" or the keys won't respond, turn the unit off, then back on. The 3600D defaults to the "Manual Mode" on powering up. c. Press the SETUP button, then press the More soft key. Press the More soft key again. d. Now press the Self Test soft key, then the View Revisions soft key. e. The Diagnostics - Self Test screen now displays the options installed in the 3600D. If the Option line is blank, then your 3600D is an AMPS only unit. f. Possible installed options are: DCM-TDMA, FEX, IS-136, IS-136 Custom, ACELP, and GPIB. If you see CCM-CDMA listed on the option line, your 3600D has the CDMA option installed.
